Bieumsan Mountain (510m) is situated between Tongwol-dong and Jillye-myeon in Gimhae, and its name means a “wide mountain.” It could be considered the origins of Changwon’s history. The Jillyesanseong Fortress, designated as Local Monument No. 128 for protection and management, was built along the mountain ridges. The extensive royal azalea site near the summit becomes the venue for the Bieumsan Mountain Jillyesanseong Fortress Royal Azalea Festival. The picturesque view of the city from the Bieumsan Rest Area will evoke a sense of nostalgia.
